Overview

WillowDMS is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use our application.

Data Collection

WillowDMS does NOT collect, transmit, or share any personal data. We have no servers, databases, or third-party services that receive your information.

What this means:

• No user accounts or registration required
• No data sent to our servers (we don't have any)
• No analytics or tracking
• No advertising or marketing data collection
• No cookies or web beacons

Data Storage

All your documents and metadata are stored locally on your Mac:

• Documents are saved in user-accessible directories (your Documents folder)
• Metadata is stored using SwiftData in your local database
• No cloud storage is used unless you explicitly enable iCloud sync (future feature)
• Your data is automatically included in Time Machine backups
• You have complete control over your data at all times

Third-Party Services

WillowDMS does not use any third-party services for:

• Analytics or usage tracking
• Crash reporting
• Advertising
• Social media integration
• Payment processing (the app is free)

Scanner Integration

When using the scanner features:

• WillowDMS connects to scanners on your local network only
• No data is sent to external servers
• Scanner connections are direct and local
• Scanned documents are saved directly to your Mac

Permissions

WillowDMS may request the following permissions:

• Local Network Access: To discover and connect to network scanners (optional)
• Camera/Scanner Access: To scan documents directly (optional)
• File System Access: To save and organize your documents

All permissions are optional except file system access, which is required for the app to function. You can deny scanner-related permissions and still use all other features.

iCloud Sync (Future Feature)

When iCloud sync is enabled in a future update:

• Data will be synced via Apple's CloudKit service
• Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
• Only you can access your synced data through your Apple ID
• Apple's privacy policy applies to iCloud data
• You can disable sync at any time
• Disabling sync does not delete your local data

Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

• All data is stored locally and accessible to you
• You can export your data at any time
• You can delete your data at any time
• No account or registration means no data retention on our end
• Uninstalling the app removes all app data from your system

Children's Privacy

WillowDMS does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. The app can be safely used by users of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be:

• Posted on this page
• Announced in app updates (if significant)
• Published on our GitHub repository

Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
